Beta Terms of Use
VERSION 2026-08-11 · EFFECTIVE AUGUST 11, 2026
Mentor is a beta educational field-coaching tool. It does not approve work, certify equipment, replace a current WPS, engineered plan, permit, SDS, manufacturer instruction, site procedure, qualified person, supervisor, medical professional, emergency service, or crisis service.
1. Who may use the beta
Access is limited to the individual named when an invite code is activated. Codes are personal, nontransferable, and may not be shared, sold, published, or used to provide access to another person. You confirm that you are legally able to accept these terms and, when testing through a school or employer, that you have permission to participate.
2. Limited, revocable access
Mentor gives you a limited, revocable, nonexclusive, nontransferable right to test the beta for evaluation and feedback. Access may be limited, suspended, or ended at any time. No ownership interest, resale right, source-code right, or right to create a competing or derivative product is granted.
3. Ownership
Mentor, Ask RENN, Under the Hardhat, their software, interface, prompts, workflows, trade packs, original written material, branding, test banks, documentation, and related product concepts remain the property of Michael T. Renn or the applicable Mentor rights-holding entity. Testing Mentor does not transfer any part of that ownership to you, your school, your employer, or another organization.
You may not copy, scrape, reverse engineer, reproduce, republish, train another system from, or commercially exploit protected Mentor materials except where applicable law expressly permits it.
4. Corrections and feedback
When you submit a correction, suggestion, field note, or other feedback, you authorize Mentor to store it with your tester identity and beta-code record. You grant Michael T. Renn and the applicable Mentor rights-holding entity a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to use, edit, combine, publish, teach from, and commercialize that feedback without additional payment or approval.
You keep any rights you already own in your original feedback. Your feedback does not give you ownership of Mentor, its improvements, or products developed from that feedback. Do not submit information that you do not have the right to share.
5. Confidential and jobsite material
Do not share beta codes, nonpublic Mentor materials, private test content, or unreleased features outside the authorized evaluation group. Do not upload confidential plant drawings, badges, access credentials, personal information, faces, proprietary equipment, controlled documents, customer information, or jobsite photographs unless you have clear authorization.
6. Questions, voice recordings, photographs, and AI processing
Questions, transcripts, corrections, and related beta records may be processed and stored to operate, secure, evaluate, and improve Mentor. When you use the voice button, a temporary recording is sent to the AI service to create editable text. Mentor does not intentionally save the raw audio recording; the resulting transcript is handled like a typed question. Field photographs are sent to the AI service for analysis and are not intentionally saved in Mentor’s correction database unless a future feature clearly asks for permission. Third-party service providers may process submitted material under their own applicable terms and data practices.
7. Safety and emergency limits
- Verify critical work against the controlling documents and responsible qualified people.
- Stop work when conditions do not match the plan, are not understood, or may place someone in danger.
- Never rely on a photograph or AI answer to certify rigging, isolation, pressure, atmosphere, fall protection, electrical condition, structural condition, or code compliance.
- For immediate danger, contact the site emergency process or emergency services. In the United States, call or text 988 for a suicidal or mental-health crisis.
8. Beta condition and no guarantee
The beta may be incomplete, unavailable, delayed, or wrong. Features may change or be removed. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mentor is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties that every answer will be accurate, complete, current, safe for a particular task, or continuously available.
9. Responsibility and termination
You remain responsible for your decisions, work, site compliance, and material you submit. Access may be revoked for code sharing, misuse, unsafe reliance, unauthorized uploads, interference with the service, attempts to extract protected material, or violation of these terms.
10. Acceptance record and updates
Entering Mentor after checking the acceptance box creates an electronic record containing your tester name, beta-code record, terms version, and acceptance time. A later terms version may require a new acceptance. Continued access never grants ownership or rights beyond the limited beta permission stated here.
11. Contact
Questions about these terms or beta access may be directed through Renn Don’t Care or the Mentor administrator who issued your invite.
